I'm not pleased with the amount of people who flaunt Nazi symbolism and such on DeviantART like a fashion item.
This photograph is far from that.
It is a picture of a relic of the West's worst bloodbath, a sombre reminder of a loss that continues to plague the families of survivors to this day. It's a reminder of the ignorance of people, and how easily they are manipulated into believing people who share their genes, their looks, are less than human.
A lesser person on DeviantART would post this and throw up a whole bunch of slogans and motifs related to what they believe to be Nazism. You have chosen to simply capture a part of this history and post it here. There are so many misguided youths in the comments (Pfft, youths - I'm only 18 myself) who will throw up comments like "HEIL" and very offensive things about Jewish people and people of different races, but you can claim to have been above that - to have aimed for this horrible chapter of history to simply be recorded on film if the relics were to ever be destroyed, and history were to repeat.
To those who stick to their horrible, hurtful, words and ideaologies - educate yourselves. Speak to a Holocaust survivor, and not to insult them. Listen to their story, the suffering they endured because a nation of headstrong idiots considered them less than human. Who believed they sold out Germany, and should have paid like dogs. Listen to how they were persecuted for matters out of their hands and degraded to sub-human by monsters - monsters you have become, who anyone could become with the right words.
Thank you sir, for capturing this piece of history. I hope throughout the tarnishment of this picture's goal by the scores of Nazi fetishists in the comments, it keeps it's original lustre and affects someone as much as it affected me.
